Vishwakarma Day Jayanti History Significance Importance In Detail Information

Vishwakarma day is known as Vishwakarma Jayanti or Vishwakarma Puja. It is the time when everybody celebrates day by worshiping Lord Vishwakarma along with the tolls and instruments of workers. According to Hindu mythology, he is the Principal Universal Architect who designed the divine architecture of the entire universe.

He was engineer of the gods and is so considered as swayambhu or the creator of the world. So in respect of them, this day almost all factories, industries and workshops are closed, so as to gave rest to their tools. Day is not only celebrated by architectural community, but also by other professionals like artisans, craftsmen, weavers, mechanics, smiths, welders, industrial workers and factory workers. So all of them prays for better future and for safe working conditions.

Vishwakarma Jayanti are done according to Bisuddhasidhanta. Vishwakarma Puja falls on the last day of Bengali month Bhadra. This Bhandra month is also known as Kanya Sankranti. This year Vishwakarma Jayanti falls on 17th September 2016. Along with Vishwakarma Jayanti, this day is also celebrated a day after Diwali along with Govardhan Puja.

As compared to all India, Vishwakarma day was specially or more celebrated in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Tripura.
